John Wesley Powell letters, 1890, 1894.

In a letter to S.S. McClure, 1890 October 23, Powell acknowledges receipt of McClure's request for an article but must decline as he is too busy and doesn't feel he could write equally well for boys and girls. In a second letter to S.S. McClure, 1894 November 6, Powell writes that he has just read Ida Tarbell's article on Napoleon which he notes "is not only graphic but its simplicity is high art. He also praises its "abundant illustrations."
